This talk is going to be fascinating as, for over 6,000 years, the fields of Street House in Loftus have been a hub of community life and work. Dr Stephen Sherlock will highlight insights from excavations that reveal significant local discoveries across various eras.
The findings reveal Neolithic stone art that highlights ancient creativity, as well as Bronze Age stone circles that suggest ritual significance. There is also evidence of early salt-making, which underscores its importance to the local economy.

This will be held at Green Hammerton Village Hall (ghrc.co.uk) on the 12th June. Entry will be £5 and tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided. Arrival from 1915 for a 1930 start.
There will also be a raffle!
We look forward to seeing lots of you there!
